This Week in Harrisburg:

Tuesday, Dec. 15

Bus Route Press Conference, 11 a.m.
City Hall, 10 N. 2nd St.

Mayor Eric Papenfuse will join Carlisle’s Mayor Tim Scott to discuss details of a new Capital Area Transit bus route that will connect workers in Harrisburg and Steelton to distribution-center jobs in Carlisle. The route begins this week and represents a joint project of CAT and the Cumberland Area Economic Development Corporation.

City Council Legislative Session, 6 p.m.
City Council Chambers, 10 N. 2nd St.

Council is scheduled to vote on the mayor’s proposed 2016 budget. This budget includes a tax hike and creates a new “neighborhood services” division funded by city trash bills. Last week, City Councilman Brad Koplinski introduced a no-new-tax plan that trims the budget by $3 million. Councilman Ben Allatt requested a higher poverty cutoff to exempt people earning less than $24,418 per year from the hike. Council will consider these and other amendments to the budget Tuesday.
